Happy Father's Day!

 Happy Fathers Day to all those wonderful hardworking dads everywhere!

 I've had part of a song running through my head all week it goes like this:
"Father's are so special with a very special love.
They watch us and protect us. They guide us and direct us" How true that is!

I am amazed how much influence dad's have on their children especially as I watch Brady with our children. My dad has always been and still is a hero in my eyes, and I love seeing that it is the same for my children. They look up to their dad in every way!

They miss him while he's away, even if its just for 8 hours of the day. I've noticed that they are always more calm and confident, more obedient and usually more happy and cheerful (as long as they've had their sleep!) when their dad is near.

Ridge tells me daily, "I want to be big like my dad!" And he's willing to pay the price too...he'll eat all his dinner, pick up his toys, and play nice with his brother when he knows he's being like dad.
It works out well for me!

I am so glad that Brady is such a great example to our children!

And I am thankful for all of the fathers who are examples to me!

 I love you all, thank you for doing what you do!

Going On A Bear Hunt

The pictures for this post really start at the bottom and go up. I got them on here backwards and can't get them to switch them around, but you get the idea. On Saturday Brady asked what I wanted to do. I said go on a hike. Somehow that hike turned into more of a bear hunt. Either way we had a great time!

Ridge is such a daddy's boy! He loves to imitate everything his dad does. Brady is so happy that Ridge is "taking hunting so seriously" at such a young age.

Well, maybe not he's not totally serious about it!

For now we can still fit the whole family on the four-wheeler

The boys loved being able to throw as many pine cones as they wanted down the hill without getting in trouble.

This was the "hiking" part where we walked about 200 yards away from the four-wheeler. =)

It's so peacful and delicious to hear the wind blowing through the trees and smell the pine. Glad we had a beautiful day to do it!

We didn't see any bears, but we did see some deer, elk, grouse, hawks and hundreds of butterflies!

We are blessed to live so close to these amazing mountains!

And here we are starting out on our adventure.

We had to test out the boys endurance in the meat packers before we went. They didn't last too long. Luckily we never had to use them, for the boys or a bear!

Spring Fishing

warm weather on Saturday = our first fishing trip of the season

the sun was shining
the birds and Brynlee were singing

the wind was refreshing

the water was calm and relaxing

the fish were absolutely not biting

but they were there

we didn't catch anything

we did see a muskrat though

Brynlee named it Musky

it felt good to be outside

and together

Brynlee got to practice her patience

Ridge was big enough to know how to do it

he took to it just like his dad

Nash convinced me he would fish too

he held his pole in the water for like 15 minutes

when I looked away he chucked it and it sunk

Someone really should make a floating kids fishing pole

It was a fantastic beautiful day!

Ridge's Big Day

Ridge got to go on his first official hunting trip with Brady! They were both super excited!
Ridge couldn't stop grinning! He felt so privileged to get some alone time with dad.


He loved being outdoors and riding the four-wheeler even if it was freezing cold!

He never whinned or complained. Brady is so happy to have another little hunting buddy!

They saw one coyote and an amazing sunset!

And they had a fantastic time!

More Holiday Fun

We had a lovely Christmas but I don't know what I was thinking on Christmas day; I didn't take a single picture! Oh well, Brady was video taping so at least we can watch it. I did get the above picture of them opening presents on Christmas Eve. I'll write more about Christmas later, but for now I at least just want to a few pictures posted.

This was so funny Brynlee came running saying, "Quick mom, get your camera dad is in the crib!"

Brady was so happy to finally get a pair of onesie jammas like the boys!

It always makes me laugh when Brynlee wears her eye mask to bed!
