Good-Bye Summer

We had a lovely weekend soaking up the last bits of summer and enjoying each other before we open up a new chapter for our family, the chapter of public school. It's bittersweet, usually I love the fall and the beginning of a new school year, but this year I was hoping it wouldn't come, at least not so fast! Brynlee and Nash will both start preschool this week. I know its only preschool but you know what comes after that, kindergarten, then first grade and one day I might turn around and find that I have grown up kids! Hopefully it won't happen that fast but time keeps marching on. They are amazing kids, they are so excited and they will do great in their classes. Here are some pictures from the celebration "starting school dinner" we had tonight...

Crawling Ridge

I took this little video clip when Ridge started crawling a couple weeks ago. Its amazing to see how fast he is learning. At first he would just crawl to toys and things he saw that he wanted, but now he has realized that he can cruise around the house, its so adorable but definately harder to keep track of him. Most of the time he ends up by the sliding glass door looking at Cassie. He likes to try going up the stairs and he loves finding things he can pull himself up on. He is such a sweet happy little guy!

Fair Again

Our kids always look forward to the fair, and last weekend it was finally here again!

Ridge wasn't quite as excited about the goats as the other two...

they loved feeding them and feeling them tickle their hands.

We brushed the cow, and Nash mooed at his buddy below. (This was the same cow that kept licking Nash last year. Nash tried really hard to get his attention but he was pretty busy eating.)

Brady fed the sheep oats too, off of the top of Nash's head.

Brynlee thought this sheep was hilarious, especially when it ate the cup. I love her face in these two pictures.

Bryn and Brady on the helicopter ride.

Bryn is getting so big, she rode the carousel all by herself this year.

This is the ride we talk about all year, the infamous pony ride. This was Brynlee's 3rd year riding these ponies. This year she got to ride Lily and Nash rode Charley. I think they should have a ride like this with big horses for adults. I would ride it!

Nash wasn't too sure about it at first, but he got the hang of it really quick!

See you again in another 12 months fair!

Swimming Lessons

Brynlee and Nash had a great time at their swimming lessons this summer. Brynlee learned to front float, back float, blow bubbles through her nose, dive for rings, and jump off the diving board. Nash had a lot of fun playing in the water with balls and jumping off the diving board.

Some Favorite Pictures

I really have been trying to get around to updating our blog, but it's always something. I've had it on my list of things to do all week and even sat down at the computer and started uploading pictures once, but the power went off and stayed off for the entire 45 minutes I had planned on blogging! Anyhow, I need to get caught up sometime, but for now I thought I would share these cute pictures that I got the other night while we were at "Magical Deer Land." It was such a beautiful evening after raining all afternoon! It felt so nice and cool, almost like a little fall chill was in the air. If we weren't already anticipating autumn, we are now!

Stergen Trips

Brady has had a great time taking some friends to fish for stergen this summer. If anyone ever wants to try it just let him know he is always happy to go!

Sage Hen has such a beautiful clear lake

even Brady went for a swim!

Keep dreaming boys, maybe in like 10 or 15 years I'll let you ride it for real!

That's more like it! Vroom Vroom!

Brady looks like one of the kids doesn't he!?
